Professional Summary:

Dr. Julia Haggerty is a rural geographer with research interests in environmental governance, resource management, and energy policy. Her current research focuses on governance approaches to changing rural resource use demands, including those associated with energy development in the U.S. West and farming and ranching in both the Western U.S. and New Zealand.

She has a longstanding interest in applied research, having spent five years as a policy analyst with a regional non-profit research firm specializing in socioeconomic aspects of natural resource policy in the U.S. West.
