Professional Summary:
I am a Professor in MSU's School of Art, and co-chair the Drawing and Painting area as well as oversee MFA graduate research. My paintings are included in over 30 public and private collections in the United States and abroad, and my work has been featured in two publications: Encaustic Painting: Contemporary Expression in the Ancient Medium of Pigmented Wax (Watson-Guptill, 2001) and Art and Science Now (Thames & Hudson, 2010). Recent exhibitions include Soundings, a collaborative exhibition at the Ucross Foundation in Clearmont, WY (catalog); As Above, So Below, a solo exhibition at Rosenfeld Gallery in Philadelphia, PA, and Repertoire, a juried group exhibition at Zolla/Lieberman Gallery in Chicago, IL. My current ongoing collaborative project with physicists entitled Black (W)hole was recently selected for inclusion in an exhibition-in-print entitled Encaustic Works 2014, curated by artist Michelle Stuart (michellestuartstudio.com).
