Professional Summary:

I am an environmental economist, working on the behavioral responses of rural households to changes in natural resources, and to alternative policy mechanisms for conservation. I focus mainly on deforestation in international contexts and examine the implications of both deforestation and forest protection for rural development. I carry out quantitative empirical work, primarily using household survey data, in conjunction with remote sensing data on land cover and other types of spatial data.
