All talks will be recorded and posted to the Institute on Ecosystems Website.

Dr. Hansen's lab studies interactions between abiotic factors (climate, soils, topography), human land use, and biodiveristy. By integrating field studies, remote sensing, spatial analysis and statistics, they are able to quantify these interactions across spatial scales from landscapes to continents. Their findings from the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem have lead to studies across the Pacific and inland Northwest, the Yellowstone to Yukon region, North America, and six comparative great ecosystems around the world. The studies are designed to aid natural resource managers in implementing more ecologically based management strategies.
