Todd Wilkinson

Founder of Mountain Journal

Environmental writer Todd Wilkinson has lived in the Greater Yellowstone region for 35 years but assignments have taken him around the world. He is a correspondent for The Guardian and National Geographic and in 2016 was asked to collaborate with prominent science writer David Quammen in completing an entire issue devoted to Greater Yellowstone. It was one of the most read issues in the history of NatGeo magazine. Todd is author of several critically acclaimed books on topics ranging from scientific whistleblowers, famed conservationist and bison rancher TedTurner and Jackson Hole Grizzly 399. In 2017 he founded Mountain Journal (mountainjournal.org), a non profit, public interest journalism site devoted to covering Greater Yellowstone, which is a global icon and the only ecosystem left in the Lower 48 with all of its original large mammals and other species that were here in 1491, the year before Europeans arrived on the continent.
