As a practicing attorney, responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of the development of over 2,000 megawatts of new renewable energy generation across the United States. I focus my research in two distinct areas: (i) renewable energy practice and policy, and (ii) legal business process improvement. My research and scholarship on renewable energy practice and policy are focused on identifying lessons learned from the development of traditional energy sources (e.g., coal and oil) and applying these lessons to the emerging area of renewable energy. Through my scholarship, I hope to educate and influence renewable energy practitioners and policymakers to adopt and utilize successful “traditional” energy policies that have proved to be successful while avoiding those that have stifled innovation and competition.
