Professional Summary:
Research in my lab seeks to understand how cells respond to mechanical loading. Understanding cellular mechanotransduction is important for many reasons including (1) learning how waterway biofilms respond to changes in water flows as may happen due to climate change, and (2) understanding how mammalian cells respond to the loading due to normal usage.
I teach courses on Mechanics of Materials and Measurement and Instrumentation, and my laboratory has an emphasis in training undergraduate students in interdisciplinary science and engineering.
