Research in the Walker Group develops and uses optical methods to study chemical structure, organization, and reactivity at interfaces. Our activities focus on two specific areas: chemistry at liquid interfaces and electrocatalysis on high-temperature surfaces. Our liquid interfaces work examines how and why chemistry at solid/liquid and liquid/liquid interfaces is different than in bulk solution while our high-temperature surface projects are intended to identify mechanisms responsible for electrochemical oxidation in solid oxide fuel cells.
