Dr. Nicholas Ward (F. Erg. S) obtained his Ph.D. in Human Factors Psychology from Queen's University (Canada). Dr. Ward moved to the USA to become the Director of the ITS Institute human factors research laboratory at the University of Minnesota (www.humanfirst.umn.edu). Dr. Ward is currently a Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Montana State University and a Senior Research Scientist at the Western Transportation Institute (www.coe.montana.edu/wti/). Current research and teaching interests focus on the design and evaluation of system feedback and interfaces as well as the organizational safety culture.
