Professional Summary:
My research and teaching focus on social-ecological systems and especially the interconnections between sustainable rural livelihoods and participatory conservation and development, in and beyond formally protected areas. The objectives of my research (conducted both in the U.S. intermountain west and overseas) are to provide relevant information and analyses to foster socially just and resilient resource management using participatory methods and collaborative conservation approaches.
