Professional Summary:
I am an Affiliate of the Sociology & Anthropology Department at Montana State University, a Research Scientist II at the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR), and the Research Director and a Principal Investigator for Metcalf Archaeological Consultants, Inc. (MAC) in Bozeman, Montana. I earned a BS in Sociology (Anthropology emphasis) from Montana State University in 1996, an MA in Anthropology from the University of Wyoming in 2001 and a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Colorado in 2007. I have worked for agencies and institutions, including the Bureau of Land Management, the Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. I have directed numerous field projects in Alaska, Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming, and presented dozens of professional papers at international, national and regional conferences. I have published more than a dozen articles in peer-reviewed formats, including journals such as the Arctic, The Holocene, Antiquity, and American Antiquity. I thoroughly enjoy teaching, research and scientific collaboration, and I provided seven classes for students at MSU during the 2011/2012 academic year as a Visiting Assistant Professor.
