Carl Fox is Dean of the Graduate School and Professor of Land Resources and Environmental Sciences. His research interests are focused on assessing he effects of natural and anthropogenic factors (e.g., climate, pollution, grazing) on terrestrial ecosystems in the western U.S. Previous studies under his direction have addressed the development and implementation of environmental monitoring and assessment programs to determine and define ecosystem health.
Attracting and retaining students in STEM majors, particularly Native students, begins well before they step onto campus. The Indigenous Research and STEM Education (IRSE) department at the University of Montana recognizes this and works to provide interesting opportunities for Native students from middle school through doctoral completion.

David L. Moore is Professor of English at the University of Montana. His fields of research and teaching at graduate and undergraduate levels include cross-cultural American Studies, Native American literatures, Western American literatures, Peace Studies, Baha’i Studies, literature and the environment, and ecocritical and dialogical critical theory. He has taught previously at the University of South Dakota, Salish Kootenai College, University of Washington, and Cornell University.
