large landscape conservation

Broberg, Len

Professor
Environmental Studies
University of Montana

My research interests focus on large landscape interactions including connectivity and climate change responses and adaptation. Currently I have students working with the Western Transportation Institute, Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe and the Montana Department of Transportation studying the effectiveness of various wildlife crossings along US Highway 93. I also have a student working on the nesting habitat of Lewis' Woodpeckers in western Montana. My focus is on terrestrial wildlife habitat needs and conservation.

The Wilderness Society

I currently serve as The Wilderness Society's Montana Program Manager, based in the Northern Rockies office in Bozeman, with primary responsibility for program work on the local Gallatin Range. I also work in TWS' climate program, which focuses on bringing credible, plain-language information about impacts to everyday Montanans who are seeing changes to the lands, waters, and wildlife that they love.
