Bryant, Donald

Research Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry
Chemistry and Biochemistry
Montana State University (The Pennsylvania State University)

My laboratory studies the physiology, metabolism, genetics, and genomics of chlorophyll-based phototrophs. We employ DNA sequencing, RNAseq, genetic and biochemical methods in our work. Goals include the discovery of structural and functional relationships in the components of light-energy transduction as well as an understanding of the metabolic interactions that define phototroph community composition and structure. I have been a faculty member for the past 31 years, and have been actively involved in teaching, research and service during that time.
