Europe

Dunlop, Catherine

Assistant Professor of History
History and Philosophy
Montana State University, Bozeman

I am an historian of modern Europe specializing in the cultural history of science and environments. My new research project explores the history of the Mistral, a powerful wind that blows through the southern French region of Provence. In writing the history of the wind, I have turned to a number of creative and unconventional archives, including impressionist paintings, compass roses, novels, poetry, as well as scientific records.
