I am a dendroecologist whose work focuses on reconstructing multi-century fire and forest histories from tree rings and from 20th-century archival records and indentifying the drivers of their temporal and spatial variation (e.g., climate, land use, vegetation, and topography).

My research seeks to understand history of fire through the Holocene in Tasmania, Australia. My work will contribute to the understanding of the role of fire plays in structuring the diverse plant communities present in the island's temperate rainforests. The primary proxies I use to reconstruct fire regimes and vegetation assemblages are charcoal and pollen preserved in lake sediments.
