My areas of specialization are philosophy of science, epistemology and Indian philosophy (not Native American Studies although, which is also very respectable). I am interested in providing a (Bayesian) account of scientific methodology like how to test/evaluate a theory. I have been working with real scientists for more than 16 years. In addition, my job is to understand and when necessary expose the assumptions of scientific methodology. I have so far collaborated with about 25 scholars where most of them are scientists.
My interests are in quantitative analysis of hydrological and environmental data and processes. Emphases in my research include modeling of watershed and climatic variables, the study of uncertainties arising from data errors and imperfect model structures; rainfall runoff model calibration; Bayesian statistical inference in modeling natural systems; and risk analysis in water resources planning and hydrology.
