Research/Scholarly Work:
My current research seeks to elucidate coupled physical-biological-chemical controls on hydrological, biogeochemical, and ecological processes and patterns at the watershed and stream network scales. I am particularly interested in uncovering first-order controls that organize the distribution and fluxes of water, nutrients, solutes, mass, and energy across watersheds. Furthermore, I am investigating how network complexity (stream networks and interspersion of lakes) impacts the export of water and nutrients from the watershed, and how stream and landscape characteristics relate to in-stream nutrient dynamics.
