Research/Scholarly Work:
I am interested in the potential for wild populations to adapt to local conditions. The focus of my research is to determine whether an early breeding phenotype and evolved vocalization in boreal toad populations in Glacier National Park represent local adaptations, and whether this is reflected in the population genetic structure. Understanding a species adaptive potential is important for predicting how it will respond to altered environmental conditions, such as may be imposed by a changing climate.
