Montana Wheat and Barley Committee to Host Roundtable Focused on Ag Technologies

The Montana Wheat and Barley Committee (MWBC), in partnership with the German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC), will host a farmers' roundtable discussion on September 14th from 1pm to 5pm at the GranTree Inn in Bozeman.

From Agweek: "The roundtable will focus on the current state and future of “smart farming” and precision agriculture in the United States and Germany.  The event will include presentations by farmers and researchers from both Montana and Germany.  Attendees will learn more about precision agriculture tools and other technologies that may be implemented on the farm today, as well as what the future may hold for on-farm technological advancements."

Dr. Bruce Maxwell, co-director of the IoE at Montana State University, will be presenting at the roundtable on how big data can be used to make better farming decisions. Other presenters include Dr. Joe Shaw, Director of the Optical Technology Center at MSU, Dr. Charles Boyer, Dean of the MSU College of Agriculture, Marcus Hotlkotter, a German farmer and social media expert, and others.
