Dr. Clayton Marlow is a Professor in the Department of Animal & Range Sciences at MSU. Dr. Marlow's research interests are focused on the enumeration and description of the cumulative effect of grazing, wildfire suppression and habitat preservation on the physical and biological processes that create and sustain lotic riparian ecosystems. His research has been published in a variety of journals including Rangelands, Journal of the American Water Resources Association, North American Journal of Fisheries Management, and the Journal of Environmental Management, among others. As a professor, Dr. Marlow is interested in preparing students to advance the conservation of natural resources and those families and communities that rely on agriculture, fishing, hunting, logging, and eco-tourism. His teaching goal is twofold; 1) train students to understand ecological processes and how these processes are affected by management actions, 2) help students use this knowledge to build a framework for problem-solving that sustains ecosystems and communities.

Dr. Marlow received an M.S. in Forest & Range Management from Washington State University and a Ph.D. in Range Management from the University of Wyoming. He currently serves as the Vice President for the Society for Range Management, and in the past has served on the Board of Directors for the Society for Range Management and Northwest Science Association.
