Montana State University students who researched topics in geology, geography, paleontology and snow science this school year will present their findings April 5 and 6 during the school's seventh annual Earth Sciences Student Colloquium.
The public is invited to attend the free event where approximately 36 undergraduate and graduate students will present 26 posters and 18 oral presentations. Two special speakers, one per day, are also scheduled.
The poster session will begin at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, April 5, in Ballroom D of MSU's Strand Union Building. It will be followed that evening by a dinner, awards ceremony and keynote speaker Rich Aram of ConocoPhillips, who will discuss "Career Advice for Life after Grad School." The dinner is free and open to the public, but those wishing to attend who are not associated with the Department of Earth Sciences are asked to RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by March 30. Those who only want to attend the keynote address do not need to RSVP.
Oral presentations will be given Friday, April 6, in 101 Gaines Hall, with the first session starting at 9:30 a.m., the second at 11 a.m., the third at 1:30 p.m. and the fourth at 2:45 p.m. Edmond Deal, state geologist and director of the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology, will speak at 12:45 p.m. on "Science and Public Policy."

Noon - Lunch. Gaines 50. Open to the public.
12:45 p.m. - "Science and Public Policy," lecture by Edmond Deal, Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology.
1:30 p.m. - Oral presentations, Session III.
2:30 p.m. - Break.
2:45 p.m. -- Oral presentations, Session IV.
4 p.m. -- Closing remarks and presenter awards.
