Professional Summary: 

I teach courses in environmental sociology, the sociology of disasters, and rural sociology. My research has focused on environmental and rural issues in the American West including native plant policy versus practice, cyanide gold mining and community impacts, electric deregulation and regional impacts, non-timber forest product harvesting and socioeconomic change and well-being, and, most recently, transboundary community change in the Northern Rockies since 9/11. I am currently working on community engagement in environmental chemistry undergraduate education opportunities with faculty at UM in Chemistry and Chief Dull Knife tribal college.
