Professional Summary: 

After working on international anticorruption issues for the U.S. government for a few years, I earned a Ph.D. in political science with specialties in public policy and comparative politics from Michigan State University. Subsequently I have held academic and research positions at North Dakota State University and Montana State University - Bozeman. My research has received support from the U.S. Department of Defense and the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. I have developed and taught courses on subjects such as the interplay of energy, environmental, and economic policies; public policy analysis; and the politics of development. My relevant research lines address the topics of political and public will and the topics of risk perception and governmental response. I am currently working on a research project that looks at political will and public will for climate change policies and the interplay between the two. I have contributed to news media articles with outlets such as USA Today, Real Clear Politics, and Congressional Quarterly.
