Miller, Jennifer

Montana Program Manager
Northern Rockies Regional Office
The Wilderness Society
Professional Summary:

I currently serve as The Wilderness Society's Montana Program Manager, based in the Northern Rockies office in Bozeman, with primary responsibility for program work on the local Gallatin Range. I also work in TWS' climate program, which focuses on bringing credible, plain-language information about impacts to everyday Montanans who are seeing changes to the lands, waters, and wildlife that they love. I also contribute to TWS' work on climate adaptation on the region’s national forests in the face of climate change, as well as place-based campaigns in the Crown of the Continent. Prior to TWS, I spent a decade at Wilburforce Foundation, most recently as Program Officer for the foundation's Yellowstone to Yukon program. While at the foundation, I developed its landscape-scale grantmaking strategy for the 1,800-mile long Yellowstone to Yukon ecoregion, and directed a program of support that included both funding and capacity building resources for conservation advocacy, science research, communications, and organizational capacity. Prior to Wilburforce, I worked at a regionally based advocacy organization focused on the conservation of native predator species in the Northern Rockies and Northern Plains. I hold an M.A. in English literature from UNC-Chapel Hill, and a B.A. in English and theater from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Prior to conservation, I built my nonprofit and organizing experience in the higher education and social justice fields.
