I am the director of the MSUB Grants and Sponsored Programs office. I help all of our faculty develop successful research proposals in many areas. Before becoming an administrator, I was a climate scientist focusing on global climate change and water resources, mainly from snowpack. My research has encompassed both physical and social sciences in my career and I have focused on complex systems analysis in the Yellowstone ecosystem. I spent two years as a program officer at the National Science Foundation in the Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences directorate where I shared my time between the Geography and Spatial Sciences and the multitude of programs in the Sustainability portfolio representing SBE interests.
